Is diet a weight loss?

Diet is a broader notion than most of us use to think. Many times ‘weight loss’ and diet is considered as same. While they definitely related, they are not the same. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionaryDIET is: 1

Diet can be a cultural thing

Wikipedia takes it further and discuss the diet as a cultural or religious choice or taboo. Beside the most common weight loss diet, there are many other diets for various health reasons. But Hindu, Jewish, and Islam have their own diet (or taboos). Carnivore, omnivore, vegetarian, vegan and raw vegan are also types of diets.

One of the most effective incentives for weight loss diet is watching photos or reading stories of people who did it successfully. It is very convincing and encouraging. Even more interesting and effective are celebrities who did it and share their experience.
